jeremy zucker

After ten years of hoping to see Jeremy Zucker live, I finally got the tickets to see him perform at The Bluestone in Columbus, OH — and it was everything I imagined and more. Bittersweet, exhilarating, and deeply emotional, the concert was a full-circle moment that felt like a tribute to my youth. Jeremy’s music has consistently been through so many seasons of my life, and experiencing it live added a whole new layer of meaning.

Welcome to the Garden State Tour

His latest album, Garden State, released at the end of August, couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect time. This project is deeply reflective, illustrating the emotional process of leaving home and the identity challenges that come with it. While Jeremy has always shown vulnerability in his lyrics, Garden State feels different— it’s more intimate. It gives listeners a window into his childhood and upbringing, revealing a side of him that fans haven’t seen before. It’s honest, raw, and it absolutely resonates.

Bebe Stockwell: The Opener of the Night

The night began with opener Bebe Stockwell, and though I hadn’t heard her music before, I walked away a fan. Her acoustic set, filled with original songs, was intimate and soulful. Her voice beautifully set the stage for the storytelling mood of the evening. She’s definitely one to watch in the future.

Jeremy’s Live Performance: Emotion & Nostalgia

Jeremy’s unique style shined throughout his performance—from his individualized sound to the on-brand production and emotion with his band.

What made Jeremy’s performance so unforgettable wasn’t just the music—it was the journey he took us on. He opened with his nostalgic new songs, hometown and i don’t know you, launching into newer anthems that had everyone excited and singing along. And just when the energy heightened, he shifted—sitting at the piano performing more intimate and sad songs like scared and brooklyn boy. The show’s energy rose and fell—pulling the audience through joy, nostalgia, and heartache. This wasn’t just any other setlist. Jeremy intentionally told a story.

The setlist was the perfect blend of old and new. While Garden State was the foundational performance of the night, Jeremy treated the crowd to fan favorites that stirred up a wave of nostalgia. One of the most touching moments of the night was when Jeremy surprised the crowd with the hit this is how you fall in love belonging to album brent ii, dedicating it to a couple in the audience who used it as their wedding song. He closed the show with his 2020 hit supercuts, ending the night with throwback energy that had everyone jumping on their feet.
