I Love You But I Chose The Maine | Masonic Temple
The Maine
The day after their tenth album release, Joy Next Door, The Maine brought their green era to the Masonic Temple in Detroit. I was lucky enough to attend the pop up shop at the Salt Shed in Chicago on the actual release day and it was incredible. You could just feel the energy and excitement for new music from all the fans that waited in the windy city for exclusive merch, vinyls, and more. If there is anything I can say to introduce you to this band is, if you’re looking for a band that truly cares about their art and their fans, welcome to the 8123 Family.
Joy Next Door
The Maine, spelled like the state but from Phoenix, Arizona (it’s confusing I know), is currently making their way across the U.S. on the Joy Next Door Tour. As they travel to different regions, the openers change throughout. For the midwest folk we got the Friday Pilots Club, Nightly, and Grayscale. Every tour is a different theme, this one is specifically green! When we parked for the show, we came around the corner to an entire line of fans in different shades of green waiting outside for the doors to open. The crowd got to hear brand new songs, old songs, see a proposal, and celebrate almost 20 years of the pop-punk music The Maine has created. As much as I didn't want the night to end, I was so blown away by their entire performance. From the very start to the last minute where security was screaming at us to get out, all of them made sure to continuously thank the fans for constantly being there and supporting them. They stayed after the show to sign stuff, take photos, and just spend time with their fans as a whole. I cannot say enough nice things about The Maine. If you haven't listened to Joy Next Door, go stream it now. Till the next show, we will see you when we're looking at you.Owner and Editor of SAP Productions.
